Wounded at Iwo
Pfc. Clarence L. Chavez, son of Mrs. Louis Chavez of Reno, who has been seriously wounded in action in the battle for Iwo Jima. The Indian youth enlisted in the marine corps one year ago, and has been attached to the Fourth Division. He is now in a naval hospital in the Pacific area. A brother, S-1c Leland Chavez, was reported missing in action recently following the initial attack on Iwo Jima. [5]
