      Deaths

The Death of Mrs. Clara Doupuis
Mrs. Clara Doupuis, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Celeste Hall in White Cloud at 2 o'clock Tuesday morning, April 6, at the age of 72 years. The funeral services were held at the Iowa Point Presbyterian church. Rev. Meier officiating. She was born in Geneva, Mo., in the year 1842 and came to Kansas in 1867. She was adopted into the Iowa tribe and drew 80 acres of land near the Margrave ranch. She was united in marriage the fourth time. Her first husband was a Mr. Toupain, to whom was born one son, Ed., who is living near his mother's home; her second marriage was to Harve Campbell to whom were born four children, Murry, who has been dead about 16 years, Mrs. Celeste Hall, who is very sick in the hospital in St. Joseph and doesn't know of her mother's death, Mrs. Bill Doupuis, who was with her mother at the time of her death and George, who died six years ago the 27th of March. Her fourth marriage was to Jim Roberts from whom she has been separated for some time before her death. She leaves 29 grand children and 18 great grandchildren besides a host of friends to mourn her death. Mrs. Doupuis was a very industrious and active woman for her age and up until the time of her last illness could do more work than the average woman. She will be greatly missed by all who have known her and we extend our heartfelt sympathy to those who are left to mourn her death. May the Great Comforter of all gifts comfort them in their time of sorrow.
